Munro Island Community Tourism Project is a resoluted body under Social service Foundation, a Public Trust registered under Indian Trusts Act 1882, engaged in Social and Economic Development Activities in the State of Kerala, South India.
Munro Island Community Tourism Project is a joint venture between Social Service Foundation and Munro Thuruth Grama Panchayath(the local Self Government body of Munro Island).
The Project envisgaes in developing schemes that helps in the Social Development of the villagers who are primarily engaged in agriculture and allied activities. The economy of the village is poor due to the effects of Globalisation and the present day Economic situations.
The Village is primarily an agrarian economy and is spread across almost 13.4 kms. The geography is diverse and the Island is surrounded by Ashtamudi Lake and Kallada River.
